Welcome to my blog! I am a Virginia based photographer who regularly travels to shoot weddings and portraits for discerning clients looking for relaxed, natural and contemporary photography with a fine art flair.

Have fun digging through the blog. My blog is primarily a place to show off the fantastic weddings and families I have the privilege of photographing. I also like to throw in design inspiration and personal work. Thanks for visiting and come back often!

Page and Eric's Wedding in Sandbridge

Page and Eric's lovely beach wedding was bliss to photograph. The reception was held at Baja, in Sandbridge, which is the perfect spot for a laid back party with fantastic sunsets.

More from Onelight

I wish I could claim credit for the conceptualization and set up of these photos. Zack was responsible for all of that, and I just 'monkey see, monkey do'-ed. Nonetheless, it was truly educational, and enhanced my understanding of light.

Kussy, Kera and Paula were fantastic models. They brought the cutest clothes and modeled their hearts out on a very, very hot day.

Beautiful Kussy.

I couldn't believe how well behaved Jose was.

The above two shots were taken whilst Kussy stood in the same place. The lights stayed put, all our settings stayed put. The only thing that moved was the photographer. They were shot in total darkness.

One Light Workshop Last night

Yesterday I hosted the One LIght Workshop
with the fabulous Zack Arias. It was the best workshop I have ever attended. Zack's teaching skills are perfection, and his sense of humor more so. It was a blast, and I learned sooooo much. We were all having major 'aha' moments. If you are a fellow photographer I urge you to attend a Onelight Workshop no matter what your skill level. I wish I had had an opportunity to take this workshop when I first started out fourteen years ago. I would have saved myself a huge amount of money and wasted time trying to figure out the vast world that is 'off camera lighting'.

Here is a shot Zach took. That's singer Kera O'Bryon (thanks so much Kera, you were a great sport)in a vintage bathing suit in my front yard with my beloved pup Josephine Lucille. Zach used more than one light for this shot. I will be posting the stuff I shot later this weekend, when I have time to go through it. Fantastic day.

norfolk_olw_001.jpg Edited to add: Thanks to all the wonderful folks who attended the workshop. We had people fly in from as far as Houston to participate. Everyone was so gracious and helpful to me and I really, really appreciate. I am sure I made some good friends yesterday. Thanks!!!!
