Welcome to my blog! I am a Virginia based photographer who regularly travels to shoot weddings and portraits for discerning clients looking for relaxed, natural and contemporary photography with a fine art flair.
Have fun digging through the blog. My blog is primarily a place to show off the fantastic weddings and families I have the privilege of photographing. I also like to throw in design inspiration and personal work. Thanks for visiting and come back often!

Beautiful Janie
I've been wanting to share these shots of the fantastically talented Janie Medley of The Bride's Cafe , a wonderful wedding website. Janie's site gets thousands of hits a day, and is full of wedding inspiration.
The last one is Janie's 'signature shot'. Isn't she gorgeous?

The Yarn Lounge
I know certain folks are interested in my take on the awesome Susan Stripling workshop I recently hosted. I am still working on a blog entry that will do justice to that event.
But, first things first....Three weeks ago I went to Richmond's Carytown, to visit The Yarn Lounge, my client Stewart's fab and funky knit shop. I love to knit, but I am a terrible knitter, so it was really fun for me to sit down and watch women who appeared to be knitting the Sistine Chapel. Meanwhile, I just finished knitting a scarf for a stuffed animal. (Yes, yes I did). For my nephew's Lizard, 'Lizardee'.
As the photos show, the shop is darling, and relaxing, and filled to the brim with amazing yarns in fantastic colors. I bought the softest alpaca and am going to make a shawl. Wish me luck : )
Stewart, thanks for sharing your shop with me! I would really like to move in, but I live too far away. And Stewart's dog, Homer. Seriously fancied him.

The Yarn Lounge has an award winning blog, featuring lots of lovely projects. Find it here.
Still Digesting......
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around everything I learned at the Susan Stripling seminar held at my studio earlier this week. I will post photos soon. Until then I wanted to thank all the people who helped make the workshop such a wonderful experience. Ann, of Splash Models thank you for sending over such gorgeous folks for us to photograph. Patrice at Bloommade several fantastic bouquets for us, and Isha Foss came by and taught my Mom and I how to make bouquets and floral arrangements (which was a heavenly experience. I love flowers and Isha is a GREAT teacher). Maya of Tiffany's by Maya loaned us some fabulous dresses (Thank you! Thank you!) and force of nature Kim Wadsworth (the most stylish person I know) loaned us some fabulous veils, which we used to great effect! Also, many thanks to Melissa and Ben, for being such great models. Everyone is still talking about your darling shoes, Melissa!
I also want to thank the participants at the Workshop. What a GREAT group. Not only did we enjoy one another's company, I am certain I made some friends for life. Everyone was so nice and kind and funny. Thank you!
Lastly, if you have the chance to attend a Susan Stripling workshop, you won't regret it. It was a life changing experience, as corny as that sounds. Thank you so much Susan!!!!

Creative Motion
Creative Motion Designs, the folks who created my website, have chosen some of my work to showcase a new template they are offering.

It's really fun to see my work in a new way on a different website.
Creative Motion Design has been a fantastic company to work with. The sites are fully customizable, which I love.
