Welcome to my blog! I am a Virginia based photographer who regularly travels to shoot weddings and portraits for discerning clients looking for relaxed, natural and contemporary photography with a fine art flair.
Have fun digging through the blog. My blog is primarily a place to show off the fantastic weddings and families I have the privilege of photographing. I also like to throw in design inspiration and personal work. Thanks for visiting and come back often!

Thirteen
My oldest son, humoring me....

Luna Bazaar
It has been a while since I posted a fun internet find. Last season I shot a lot of tented weddings with wonderful Asian Lanterns hanging from the tent tops. This is a lovely way to add ambient light to an evening tented wedding.
Luna Bazaar is the online Lantern source I found with the largest variety of colors, shapes and sizes.

Wow! Those are some big photos of lanterns : )
Martha and Josh's new addition
I shot Martha and Josh's wedding almost two years ago....and I recently photographed their gorgeous baby boy...He is soooo juicy : ) Congratulations Martha and Josh!

Ines Del Mar
Some of my photos of Janie Medley's wonderful flowers are featured in the inaugural issue of Ines Del Mar Weddings, a gorgeous new wedding publication.

Heather and Ari at One Fish Two Fish
Heather and Ari had a gorgeous evening wedding at One Fish Two Fish in Virginia Beach. Helga Macko did the flowers, and they were imaginative and marvelous, as always. The Jesse Chong Band supplied the fantastic music.
Heather's dress was stunning. Hand beaded all over, it shimmered in the light. I really loved this dress.
Best to you Heather and Ari, fantastic, elegant wedding!!!

Quintana Roo for the New Year
We had a lovely time in Mexico, once our luggage got there three days after us. I enjoyed hanging out in a fancy schmancy resort in a 'Corona' t-shirt and men's swim trunks until the luggage arrived (the available women's shorts were a little too shredded-gauze-meets-sequin-festooned-Daisy-Dukes for me). The children had a blast snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, swimming with dolphins and visiting ruins.
My thirteen year old son took most of these photos with his new Canon D30. Being a doting Mom I find him fabulously talented.
Thanks to my wonderful in-laws, Carol and Rich Theuer, for inviting us on yet another fabulous trip.
It was a lovely reunion.
Image in The Knot
This photo was chosen to illustrate an article in The Knot about Bridesmaids. I know it's silly, but I'm always a bit thrilled when my photos are published.

I have been enjoying a break recently, and will be up and blogging regularly soon. I have some weddings to blog, and lots of other portrait stuff, more published stuff, etc. etc... So stay tuned!
