Welcome to my blog! I am a Virginia based photographer who regularly travels to shoot weddings and portraits for discerning clients looking for relaxed, natural and contemporary photography with a fine art flair.
Have fun digging through the blog. My blog is primarily a place to show off the fantastic weddings and families I have the privilege of photographing. I also like to throw in design inspiration and personal work. Thanks for visiting and come back often!

Happy Halloween!
I have been meaning to feature the wonderfully talented Stephanie Henninger of Agnes Unlimited Studios.
Every year for the past few years I have ordered several of her handmade paper mache' creations. I love her stuff, it is so well made and very well priced for handmade things. This year my sons and I created a lively landscape of Halloween fun on a table in our foyer. Find her things at Agnes Unlimited.

Mount Pleasant
Lauren and Jack's wedding took place at the Bride's family home, historic Mt. Pleasant in Kinsale, Virginia. Having spent the better part of the last three years renovating a late Victorian home, I was thrilled to work at this amazing house, where every detail is absolute perfection.
Lauren and Jack shone with love all day long. I overheard someone ask Lauren if she was having a good time and she said' "I am having the best time of my life!" The photographs show it. A gorgeous wedding and a wonderful couple.

Cecil Beaton at the Chrysler
Iconic portrait photographer Cecil Beaton's work is at the Chrysler until January 6th.

Lovely earrings for brides
Gump's is one of my favorite catalogs. Their chinoiserie and jewelry are fantastic. I think these simple pearl earrings (at every price point from affordable to !!!!!!) are truly gorgeous and timeless.
Find them here.

Will Work for Art
Mike Foley is an artist and designer in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is responsible for some cool national ad campaigns you might recognize. A couple of years ago we traded art for photographs of his gorgeous family. I mention this because it is October, and the paintings Mike sent me are from his 'Pumpkinicity' series. Something about these charming little paintings makes me want to drink hot cider and eat gingerbread....

find Mike's cool stuff here.
Jefferson Hotel
Deb and Shane were married at the Jefferson. I loved this wedding! Deb and Shane's families were so warm and loving. Deb is a New York City Police Officer and Shane is in the US Army's Cavalry and it was fun for me to photograph all those men and women in uniforms. What is it about uniforms?
I am so glad they chose to have their wedding in Richmond. Much, much happiness Shane and Deb...
I LOOOVE a dramatic shoe shot, especially if it involves Jimmy Choos!

Something Old Something New
Is a wonderful resource for Brides. Mackenzie Sala has really great taste and is adept at finding lovely and interesting stuff for the soon to wed.
She found the amazing Jessica Fields rings I just blogged about. Thanks MacKenzie!
Check out her blog here.
Mackenzie is also an invitation designer. Please check out her gorgeous stuff here.

Jessica Fields
If I were to buy another band to add to my wedding ring wardrobe I would buy one of these. I think they are contemporary and classic at the same time, which is difficult to pull off! Plus they have that handcrafted vibe I adore.

Jessica Fields designs and fabricates these gorgeous rings and you can find them here.
