You know darling Michelle Kilgore, wonderful Patrice and fabulous Jeremy had a hand in it :  )

Well, not this year.  It has been consistently, miserably cold for weeks on end.

 I know you folks in truly cold climes have no sympathy for my whining about temperatures in the thirties, but we are tender, we southerners, and the thirties are cold to us!  (And I won't pick on you when you come down here and moan about heat and humidity and sweaty misery during the dog days, because I'll be in a puddle right along with you.)

  Well, one day in the midst of all this frozen tundra,  my lips decided to fall off my face, they were so dry.  I tried EVERYTHING, even my favorite Kiehl's balm to make this problem go away and nothing worked. Then, my beloved Mother in law sent me a  Palmer's Swivel Stick, and an obsession was born.

I think you can buy it in drugstores, but I haven't been able to find any locally, so I hit up Amazon for three more tubes.  I carry it in my purse, have a tube by my bedside, and one at my worktable (and a spare, always a spare!).  My horrible lips were healed within twenty four hours, and have stayed smooth the rest of this cursed winter.  The main ingredient: cocoa butter, which means it smells delicious too.  

The only thing is, it looks exactly like a glue stick.  Exactly, because it's bigger than most balms.  And yes, I recently sent out a folder with a lovely print glued to it with lip balm, because I have the glue and the lip balm very near one another. (Deanna, if your print falls off your folder you can rub the folder on your lips for instant, soothing relief if you need it : )

Another thing I love:

 I was in Asheville visiting my sister, and I had run out of hair spray (the horror) so I was nosing about in her bathroom and I came across this hair product embellished with a lot of bold promises (Miracle leave in conditioner, nourishing, detangler, smoother, etc. etc..... I'm not even scratching the surface of the claims made by this stuff).

Ever the skeptic, I tried some and WOW!  It's amazing. And even though I bandy that word about a lot  (I'm a wedding photographer, and it's somehow required)  this stuff truly is amazing.

It snowed!  It was crazy windy and the snow was more like sharp ice rocks, but Rachel and David were game to go outside.

I can't wait to show you the decorative elements at this wedding.  It was gorgeous!  And Patrice did the flowers, so you know they were gorgeous too!
